Who is this guy?

Hi, I’m Ryan.

As you can see, my wife Jessica and I have three boys. That’s a lot of energy! But, it keeps me on my toes. Gotta stay sharp!

I make photos. Most often on a wedding day. I like photos with people in them. People are unpredictable. That’s why they’re interesting.

I love music. I spent more than a decade living in New York City playing music. All kinds. I’m a good improviser.
When I picked up a camera for the first time I quickly felt like making pictures was the thing I should have been doing my whole life. I do a lot of it now.

Making photos is a lot like playing music. Assess the situation, react, interact. It’s thinking on your feet.

I love a good book. But with an eleven-year-old, an eight-year-old and a five-year-old, I don’t get to read as much as I used to. But it’s a good trade off.

Weddings are amazing. Super fun. I often end up dancing my way through reception photos. I really like collaborating with the couples I work with to make artistic images that tell the story of the day.

I really like cheese but I’m pretty dairy-free these days. It’s all about discipline people!

My wife and I have been downsizing. We started out living in NYC and eventually moved to San Francisco. Then we wound up in Flagstaff, Arizona. That’s probably small enough. And it’s just right.

I used to shoot pictures for newspapers and I like working in a documentary style. When it comes to making portraits, I like to pull out some lights for a little drama.

My favorite photos tell a story. Your wedding day is the culmination of part one of your story. And it’s the beginning of a new chapter in part two. It’s an emotional story. One that needs to be documented with care. And serious skills.

I’ve got a handle on that.

My job is really, really fun. I'm enthusiastic and easy going, which makes folks on the other side of my lens feel really, really comfortable.

Working with your photographer should be fun. You're probably not a professional model. You might not feel like you know how to pose. You might be a little nervous about taking photos. Join the club! But that's where I come in. It’s my job to make you feel at ease. And have a good time!

Let’s talk about taking your photos. Drop me a line. Let’s chat.

Best,
Ryan
