Seva surprised Apoorva and proposed to her as the sun rose just above the rim of the Grand Canyon on a brisk morning about a week before Christmas. Not a bad way to ask your soulmate to get married!

How do you put together a surprise proposal and have it photographed? It’s not as hard as you might think. I arrive at our meeting spot before the two of you get there and proceed to get myself ready to shoot. I see you drive up and I’m ready to go. Your partner doesn’t know I’m there, but you do. Once you’re out of your car and ready to “take a walk and look around,” I walk past you and lead you to a nice spot to propose. And one that I can photograph the moment from a little ways off. Time to make it happen! Once you’ve proposed, You can let your now fiancé in on the fact that I’m there and that I’ve photographed your proposal. And then we can make some engagement portraits while we explore the area and the two of you enjoy the moment. Pretty fun stuff!

That’s exactly how Seva and Apoorva’s engagement session went. We explored the south rim around Yavapai Point as the sun continued to rise. After about an hour, we parted ways as they continued to explore the rim of the Grand Canyon. Not a bad morning at all. Enjoy!

Thinking of proposing? Want to capture the candid moment without your future fiancé knowing? Let’s talk! I’ve got a sure fire way to make it happen. And, after you propose, we’ll have a more standard engagement session.
